General

As you have probably noticed Norway is an expensive country -especially for drinks and eating out. These are bars we recommend (although not necessarily cheap):

Near Kosmo:

  • Victoria, Kong Oscars gate 29
  • Kafeen, Skostredet 12
  • Folk og Røvere, Skostredet 4
  • Minibar, Kong Oscarsgate 44

Opposite side of town (but only 10 min. walk):

  • Legal, Nygårdsgaten
  • Pingvinen, Vaskerelven 14
  • Logen, Øvre Ole Bulls Plass 6 (second floor)
  • Apollon, Nygårdsgaten 2A

A few things about Norwegian law..

Drinking alcohol in public places is prohibited and may result in a fine from the police.

It is illegal to bring alcohol into a bar/restaurant and also to take the drink with you outside unless they have a clearly marked area that allows it.
